Marion Cotillard & Romain Duris To Star In Pascal Chaumeil's Comedy 'Living Is Better Than Dying'; 'Heartbreaker' Getting Remake

Director Pascal Chaumeil and actor Romain Duris know a good thing when they see it, and following the massive audience and critical success of their rom-com "Heartbreaker" in their native France, the duo are set to re-team for the comedy "Living Is Better Than Dying."

Deadline reports that Marion Cotillard is also set to star in the film about
"a likeable dreamer (Duris) who takes refuge in a hotel from the police; once there he buys himself time by pitching an over-the-top blockbuster to a Hollywood producer." We'll have to wait a bit for this one as it won't go in front of cameras until summer 2011. Chaumeil, meanwhile, will be in development, starting on an English language remake of "Heartbreaker" that is currently being produced by Working Title.

"Living Is Better Than Dying" is another in Cotillard's exciting slate of upcoming films that include Woody Allen's recently wrapped "Midnight In Paris" and Steven Soderbergh's soon to be filming "Contagion" with future possibilities including David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" and Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity." She's also in Guillaume Canet's "Little White Lies" which recently unspooled at TIFF to solid reviews and already picked up Canadian distribution. US distribution should likely follow.
